We jumped straight into another game. Adam wanted more practice with S&D and i thought it was a good idea to test a list i’m thinking of bringing along to an upcoming event.

Adam won the roll off and took first turn. He deployed in the same way as last game. I deployed two purebloods on the left, a feral and a pureblood on the right, two scarsfel on each flank and a wayfarer on each flank.
Minions Turn 1
Polarity Shield goes on the big Croc, Vision goes on Mire, the juniors put out their spells and everything runs up, again respecting Lord of the feasts threat.
Circle Turn 1
My wolves all warp spell ward or protective plates and run up to be just a hair outside of the Dracodile’s threat. My stones place up to put a pureblood in the triangle. All my birds advance, animi and repo one of them toeing the zone, just inside of Lug’s threat range. Kaya casts Synergy and just moves up to keep everything in control.
Minions Turn 2
Adam wants to kill a stone this turn to shut down my porting as it gets around Polarity shield. The Dracodile goes first and spray at a stone and the pureblood, he does a few points to the pureblood but leaves the stone on 2 boxes. The snake attempts to kill a different stone it’s in range of but again leaves it on two boxes. (Lucky me!) The Warhog runs to behind the central cloud and the gobber gets behind the house. Brun runs to keep Lug in control who is primaled and charges the bird. He misses his charge attack and it dodges away, he uses another initial on the lord of the feast and kills him. He can’t overtake any further though as he is just on the edge of control.
Circle Turn 2
I know i can take two heavies and do serious work on the Dracodile this turn. I start by hitting lug with two of my griffons. My Feral then goes in and finishes it off, also capping out synergy. The pureblood moves up and sprays the Mist speaker to death. My right hand wayfarer moves up and hunters marks the piggie behind the cloud. I want to primal the bird on the left to ensure it kills the pig but due to the range it means i’ll end up with a griffon out of control. I decide it’s worth it and primal it and the pureblood before repoing back as far as i can. The bird goes in and kill the pig with a fury to spare then puts up elusive. The stones port the pureblood who then warps strength and wails on the dracodile. It’s dice +1 and i leave it on about 20 boxes when all is said and done. Another bird moves up behind the cloud. Finally i spray at the dracodile but fluff the dice, then repo back out of threat.
I can’t clear the gobber or Dwarf so nobody scores.
Minyans Turn 3
The Snake starts the turn by charging the blackclad and using gunfighter to spray him and a stone, killing them both. The Dracodile moves around to get the birds back arc, it then kills it and drops the Pureblood to a handful of boxes. The dwarf moves around the house to where the blackclad wont get cover from the house and shoots him but misses. Orin then moves up and boosts a chain lightning into him, killing him. The battleboar primals himself and charges the pureblood finishing it off. S&D Run to the left zone to score it.

Circle Turn 3
I have a griffon who can walk into the Dracodile but don’t have any way of building Synergy past 1 and i don’t fancy it’s chances at killing it so instead Kaya primals the bird and then sits a hair outside of 7 inches as he now has no out for the cloud and feats. The primaled bird then charges the objective and kills it. The pureblood charges and kills the battleboar and then repo’s into the Dracodiles face. I port a stone into his zone to contest. My pureblood can’t reach the gobber so sprays at Orin and the Dwarf, killing Orin but leaving the Dwarf alive on 2 boxes. The bird who wasn’t in control ended up frenzying so did nothing. My feral takes up position behind the cloud, threatening 9 inches with a walk to try and keep the Dracodile a bit honest.
I score 2!
2 – 1 to Circle
Minions Turn 4
The Dracodile starts by wiggling round in the Purebloods threat to also get a stone into it’s melee. It hits it with an initial leaving it alive on a box. He then swings at the pureblood boosting all the hits needing 10s under Kaya’s feat. Lucky for me he leaves it alive on about half it’s boxes. Sturm moves up and sprays the stone in his zone to death and feat, catching the pureblood, Feral and a bird. The battleboar is TK’d and runs to contest the middle. The snake sprays over the dracodile into the pureblood doing nothing to his garg but doing a couple more points of chip damage to the Pureblood. The Dwarf charges a bird but misses so it dodges away.

2 – 2
Circle Turn 4
My plan is to build Synergy on the dwarf as he has stonehold up so is unlikely to die. Unfortunatly, the first bird, with it’s first weaker initial rolls a 6 and kills him off. My primaled Griffon gives me another pip of synergy with it’s frenzy attack. I can get my pureblood and a feral onto the Dracodile but under S&D’s feat i really don’t like the odds so instead I decide to keep playing scenario and keep my Feral where it is. Kaya casts Primal on the pureblood and heals it’s aspects, then repo’s into the circle zone. My pureblood stays in the melee range of the Dracodile and kills the battleboar, then repo’s back into it’s face to try and be annoying. My final Stone contests his zone.
I score 2!
4 – 2
Minions Turn 5
S&D TK’s the Pureblood around. He sprays it doing more damage and moves to the back of the zone. Danger Snake then moves around and finishes it off in melee. The Dracodile then charges the objective to get in melee range of the Feral. He does 10 damage to the objective then puts the rest of his attacks into the Feral, trying to remove primal from the board but he leaves it on a handful of boxes. The Soulslave charges a Griffon in the back but misses. Finally Mire charges and absolutely mullers the stone in his zone.
Adam can’t get to my zone so we both score 1!
5 – 3 to Circle
Circle Turn 5
I know i can push hard this turn and put myself in a position to win. Kaya goes first, she casts primal on a bird then charges the soul slave and kills it. I then have another bird build a second Synergy pip and finally my bird that was charged by the soulslave charges Eilish and kills him, then repo’s into his zone. My pureblood is then able to charge the Dracodile due to the angle it had to face with it’s charge, he kills it off with a fury to spare. Finally the Feral warps for Arm and stands B2B with the pureblood to try and screen Kaya.
I score 2 again!
7 – 3 to Circle!
Minions Turn 6
Adam has no way of coming back on Scenario and the only thing that can get to Kaya is the Snake that needs to charge the feral and then overtake off of it which would give me more transfers so instead decides to just try and get some army points. Mire charges the Griffon and crushes the damage, one shotting it like a champ. (It had taken a few points of damage but still!) S&D sprays my wolves and the snake then goes in, kills the feral but can’t finish the pureblood. At the end of his turn i’d score again taking it to 8 -3
Phew. Despite pulling out the win that list still feels really tough to play into. Adam had some really unfortunate dice rolls, leaving the stones alive left his Dracodile in a killable position so he couldn’t be too cheeky with it in the later turns. Similarly a couple of missed attacks here and there left me with more alive than i probably should have had. I tried out the 3 pureblood build to see how it felt and i wasn’t overly keen. They hit like a wet flannel and i think i need some more oomph in the list. But i’m glad i tested it!
