In an effort to actually play a list more than once prior to a tournament i decided the best bet was to just throw B3 down into whatever my opponents had and see how it fared.
Winter Guard Kommand
Butcher3 with 2 Marauders and Ruin.
Malakov1 with a Destroyer.
2 x 10 Riflemen with 3 rockets, Mortar and field gun and Joe.
Ossrum with 10 Bunnies (6 hand cannon and 4 sprays)
Eiryss1, Harlan Versh, Anastasia, Taryn, Aiyanna & Holt.
He gets first turn and i chose the side with the wall nearer the middle.
He runs everything up. I then advance as per the below with the mortar shot taking out Anatasia who was by the building.
He sees ruin as a threat and even behind the wall blows him of the board but didn’t realise the dog and butcher were near by and so damage the dog with a Fire for Effect Mortar giving me vengeance.
Seeing a def 14 jack taken off the board so easily i needed to do something. After measuring i could see with vengeance and energizer/charges i could get 5 of the hand cannon jacks. Would have been 8 (damn Sturdy). I kill all 5 and feat leaving me 6 focus and the dogs try to jam in vain. the winter guard run up to give sac targets and the jacks try to follow. The destroyer tries to kill eiryss but deviates to far.
In the end it mattered not. the jacks bulldoze and clear the sac targets, eiryss hits and strips butcher. Aiyanna hist the hard and butcher dies in 2 holt shots and 2 shots from ossrum (reinholt).
Post Games thoughts
Without vengeance it wouldn’t have even been close to a game but we looked into it and if eiryss had died and there had been some more distributed damage dice (every 2D6 was 9+) butcher would have lived. But saying that there are too many things that can go wrong and without an effective way of dealing with Eiryss or being able to jam butcher doesn’t have game into this. Lesson learned and 2nd list being formulated 🙂
