First match of game night saw me against Mark who had an Abby1, Twins pairing. I was running Kruger2 and Kaya3 and decided to drop Kruger as i felt he could play into both lists and… well, Kdawg is Baedawg.

Sentry Stone and Mannikins
Legion – Oracles of Annihilation?
Absylonia, Terror of Everblight
Gobber Bellows Crew
Mark won the roll off and decided to go first. I picked the side with a trench in the zone and we got going.
Legion Turn 1:
Mark advances aggressively up the board, slip streaming Proteus and an angel up the board. Playing god is on the Scythean and refuge is on the front most angel. His spell martyr chills behind the cloud ready for scoring.
Circle Turn 1:
I see an opportunity here as Mark has moved Proteus up a little too far. A warden gets TKd and tramples up to geomance a gallows at him dragging him 2 inches which allows the Bark node to place up and TK him round. My two Wyrds, right mannikins and fulcrum open up and remove him from the board. The rest of my forces advance up cautiously with my mannikins fanned out on the left to try and be a bit annoying. It felt good being up on attrition so early but to finish the beasty off my Fulcrum had to be put in harms way. I expected to lose it but knew i could remove whatever came in next turn.
Legion Turn 2:
As expected, Mark took advantage of the Fulcrums position and went in on it. Thankfully however it took two angels to do so, the first refuging back into the forest making it a bit of a pain to get at but the second, chilling out in the open with an upkeep on it… yummy. The seraph moved up and took my left sentry stone out 🙁 and his gobbers advance to pop a cloud next to the forest.
Circle Turn 2:
Time to lay the smackdown. I was hoping to remove both angels and the seraph this turn however i made a few mistakes. One of my wyrds moves into gunfighter range with the playing god’d angel and blows it’s fucking head off thanks to purgation. I gallows and TK his seraph into walking range of a warden which then, with the stoneshaper buff removes it. Taking out slipstream felt huge and allowed me to take the piss a bit with Kruger going for an unboosted TK needing a 7 at the other angel which missed taking him down to 0 camp but i was pretty confident nothing could get to him. My other warden advanced through the forest and boosted a TK at the angel to get him into melee, he landed all of his initials on it and chain attack slammed it back reducing it to a handful of boxes. The slam pushed it far enough back to get a bead on it with my other wyrd but it was exactly 17 inches away as the crow flys with too many things in the way so i just moved it across to a safe place and bided my time. I score my flag and my zone for a healthy 2-0 lead.
Legion Turn 3:
Mark was running out of pieces and needed to get some work done. Abby feats and heals everything to full aswell as giving it hyper regeneration for the following turn. Marks Angel kills off my warden then refuges across into my zone to contest. His Scythean and Blackfrost shard charge into my warden but don’t manage to kill it, slightly poor dice on Marks part. He runs a spell martyr to contest my flag and the hellion advances and puts up wind ravager to protect the angel from shrimp. He doesn’t manage to kill my contesting mannikin so only scores 1.
2-1 to Circle
Circle Turn 3:
I start my turn by TKing his Scythean round to set up a good chain attack and turn him round to make hitting easier. My Warden gets stone strength and then with 3 initials boosting damage chain attack smites his Scythean (With a massive roll of a 6) into his Hellion which manages to kill the Scythean off and knockdown the Hellion, leaving it on 2 boxes. Kruger arcs a Gallows at the contesting Spell Martyr and TKs the Warden out of melee with the Angel who then goes and flattens the Hellion before geomancing a gallows at a forsaken, killing that too. My bark node places to set up entropic force and shaft the healing from his feat before my two wyrds combine and turn a second angel into dragon jam and my Mannikins kill off his gobbers and a sheppard, my shifting stones place into his zone. I score 2 again to a 4-1 At this point Mark shakes my hand, he has nothing that can get to Kruger and doesn’t have enough things left to contest or last more than one more turn. Good Game.
Victory for the Wurm!
This felt like a rough matchup for Mark. Abby1 seems to have a lot of important upkeeps which allows the wyrds to paste things that are a lot more expensive than they are plus the fact my bark nodes can shut down his feat given the chance makes it an uphill struggle for Abby. Still having Proteus in range to be yank n’ shanked was a mistake which let me get ahead early.
