We re racked but this time i went back to my normal Morv build with the Raptor. We re rolled the scenario and unfortunately for Stu we rolled Mirage.
Circle – Dev Host
Morvahna the Dawnshadow
Lord of the Feast
Bloodweaver Night Witch
Tharn Wolf Riders
Cygnar – Heavy Metal
Deployment, i again won the roll off and took first turn. I put my raptor opposite his zone so i could easily shoot his objective down. I put a ravager unit right and the other unit and riders left. Morv goes central. Stu puts his striders more central this time but slightly to the left. Two chargers go left, the other two and ace go right and Triumph goes central.
Circle Turn 1
Everything runs up staying out of threat besides my riders who push harder up, hoping def 17 keeps them safe. My bird can get really aggressive thanks to flying high and being lightning immune. Fog is cast and this time i put carnivore on my riders hoping to hunt some mechanics. This time Lord of the Feast stays out of threat.
Cygnar Turn 1
Stu moves up, FFE goes on siege and Explosivo on Triumph. Stu manages to shoot off two riders and kill a ravager with eleaps and on the other side kills a ravager with ace. Triumph puts a big shot into the bird for 9 damage. The squire runs into range of running to the flag and into the trench.
Circle Turn 2
With vengeance i can get one ravager into ace and one into a charger. The one on Ace rolls very well and takes out his cortex the other doesn’t do quite so well and only does 4 damage, the riders go in and do a bit more damage to the same one but still nothing too exciting. My nightwitch positions in range to run to the centre flag, or to his. My bird aims and blows a charger off the board then repo’s out of range of Triumps sentry shot. Lord of the feast shoots a strider and ports behind it, he kills the squire and with a massive 6, 6, 5 boost does about 11 damage to the strider (lol)
Cygnar Turn 2
Stu is able to clear out all the ravagers in his zone and the riders and ravagers that are contesting his flag with his charges and Caine0. Ace is repaired for 1 then spirit doored back to Caine to keep him safe. Siege force hammers LotF after failing to kill him with Triumph and fails to kill him but he does knock him down out of melee with everything so he doesn’t need to worry about him next turn. His mechanics get in his zone but he doesn’t have anything to contest with so we both score.
We both score our flag and zone.
2 – 2!
Circle Turn 3
Morv feats back all her shit and puts carnivore on the right ravagers, she Censures explosivo and FFE which stu keeps in play allowing me to heal. I then repo back behind the house. The nightwitch kills arlan and then pokes the strider for a bit of damage. My raptor shoots a charger down to a handful of boxes. My right ravagers charge in, two on the objective and one into the mechanics. I kill the objective with two charge attacks and one bought attack, with the minifeat i’m able to kill all the gobbers, healing Morv to full and then buy and boost an attack into the wounded charger, finishing it off. Lord of the feast advances to engage Siege and sit in the trench.
I score my flag, zone and the objective.
5 – 2 to Circle!
Cygnar Turn 3
Siege goes first and advances to LotF’s maximum reach, not wanting to take a free strike. He boosts another force hammer into him, killing him then ground pounders a rider and a ravager. Caine boosts shots into the ravagers in his zone clearing all but 1 who toughs. His chargers then combine to clear out a bunch of Ravagers and riders. One strider shoots my objective twice, killing it along with a chieftain, a ravager shaman and a regular ravager with eleaps. His plan was for Ace to shoot the shaman on my flag down and for triumph to kill my stealthed gallows grove to stop me scoring. Unfortunately his next activation puts a kink in that plan… His other strider goes and stomps on my rider behind his striders, he hits and kills it but rolls 3 for eleaps which hits Siege, Caine 0 and Ace. Siege and Ace takes a couple of points but Caine who is on 1 box from Censure and 0 camp from boosting dies, making Ace inert. He puts the guns into more stuff killing some dudes. Unfortunatly with all his solo’s and units dead he can’t score his elements.
Stu scores my objective but i score my flag and zone.
7 – 3 to Circle.
I flick the clock straight back score another 2 to win.
Final Score: 9 – 3 to Circle
Again, the liveness of the scenario was really rough for Stu, none of his solo’s want to be sitting on flags and with only one easy to kill unit he is going to really struggle to stay relevant on scenario if he wants to stay relevant on attrition. Additionally my Raptor is savage into this list as i can fairly easily kill a charger each turn with it and he can only reliably threaten it with Triumphs gun. I think i prefer the Raptor version but i’ll have to put more games in with the alternate version to see if i change my mind.
