Introduction
Hi all Kev here, well I’m new to this blogging thing so let’s see how it goes.
Hopefully this will be a series of monthly articles that will be a log of my journey from a new player to my first major Warmachine tournament, which will be the English nationals in September. Hopefully to encourage new players like me to take part in events and to help keep this awesome game growing!!!
So a little bit about my hobby history.
I have been in to miniature painting and gaming for over 15 years now, a large portion of that was just as a painter and collector. The last 5 years is where I found the playing of the games (mostly GW) equally appealing.
I had seen the models from Privateer Press and had made poor attempts at playing the game at home but it never became a main interest.
When MK3 was released I had another look at the Privateer Press line from a miniature collector POV and went down to the local stockists. The local Press Ganger introduced himself and after a good chat we arranged a demo game.
After that game my perspective on the game changed.
I started frequently going to game nights and found that it was a competitive group but not in a bad way, in a positive way.
Everyone wanted you to improve. Each game I played I learned something new.
So after I had settled on my faction of Trollbloods and started to built up the the standard of points level at tournaments 75 points, I attended my first local tournament ran at the store.
Needless to say I did not win, nor did I expect to. But what did happen was I had an awesome day playing a game that I now love and meeting a lot of new people.
Now as of writing this I’ve been in the game about 5 months, and have bought my ticket to the nationals.
My goals at nationals.
Don’t get me wrong am I gonna win, no.
Am I gonna have an awesome time? I fuppin hope so!
Currently my main goal is to go 1/6
Till next time may your dice roll well (except for storm lances)
