The team is based out of the Northwest. We love new players getting involved so if you want to get into the game/play more/work on your game then give us a shout!
Chris Young – One of the originals – Chris has seen it all. A Mk1 veteran, press ganger and allround community legend. He is the Yoda of the group, if Yoda was a lot bigger and spoke with a Liverpudlian accent. Find him at WGS coaching the team, hosting events and being awesome.
Adam Jones (Epic) – Another stalwart of the community – Adam has played since MK1 and knows the game inside out. You’ll find him being a super nice guy and telling the rest of the local players that their dice were so unlucky and it would have been close other wise (he’s that nice he covers up smashing opponents)
Chris and Adam have been the backbone of the Wirral community for years – they were at the original smogcon (“We were there!”) and have stuck with the game since Mk1. Pillars of the community!
Kevin Jones – Kev is realtively new to the group. He’s an experience hobbyist and is now stepping up his game, joining in Mk3. He has a blog on the site and will be writing about nationals etc
Mark Ellis – Mark is legendary for running 3 massive bases. He is now diversifying list building but will happily show you want double axiom/TEP can do. He’s been doing well at tournaments over the last year and is working to push into the top X2/X1 brackets
Richard Beech – The finger dancing loon cut his teeth at the WGS before luckboxing his way to major events. His claim to fame is winning Welsh Masters without rolling any dice. Since then his opponents have clocked on to his wiley ways and he has had to roll dice at tournaments. He has not won a masters since.
Paul ‘Marlin’ Sheard – While not looking for his wayward son or not doing work for University Paul is taking names with both Retribution and Circle Orboros. New to the team but will soon be taking names at events.
Ben Thomas – The teams current Jaeger Pilot. Ben has previously done well with Cygnar playing Maddox “Before she was cool” and getting a place in the European Invitational. Once Cygnar became the “in thing” Ben’s inner snowflake pulled him away from the swans and so now he is piloting a Pacific Rim list much to everyone’s amusement and misery (watch out for those pulls).
