My lists are in the round 1 batrep, if you haven’t read it go check it out! 🙂
Round 2 saw me playing into another new opponent named Matt who was also playing Circle. He was running Baldur 1 in Dev host and Bradigus in Bones. I was fairly confident that Morv2 could play into most other host builds and be advantaged and Bradigus didn’t scare me at all so i dropped Morv and he ended up dropping Baldur 1.
Lord of the feast
Ravager White Mane
Brighid & Caul
My opponent won the roll off and took first turn. I picked the side with a building to hide stuff behind and we got going. He deployed one ravager unit and the twins on the left with the ravagers on the right and the bird in the middle. I deployed Ravagers and riders on the left and ravagers and the bird on the right. Twins Prey left ravagers and Trackers prey riders.
Circle Turn 1… The other one
Everything runs up, Baldur puts stone skin on the right ravagers and casts solid ground.
My Turn 1
Matt ran up without measuring my threat ranges so Lord of the feast is able to get the bird out and get into 4 ravagers. I spend a while positioning Morv to ensure i can get re rolls on his melee attacks but not get fog of war on his bird target. She puts carnivore on him and casts fog. Lord of the feast then walks up needing a re rollable 6 to hit and misses like a bellend. I got a little frustrated that i’d spent so long planning it for him to miss but it wasn’t the end of the world. I positioned ravagers out of threat of his stuff but ready to counter strike whatever he sends at the feasty boi.
Matt’s Turn 2
Matt sends two ravagers in on the lord of the feast, killing him off. The trackers and bird then combo up to kill off 3 ravagers. Baldur puts up a rapid growth to try and cover some things and everything else shuffles up. Brighid shoots and kills a ravager giving me vengeance.
My Turn 2
I can get a real good attrition lead here while also pushing on scenario. My bird goes first and moves up, he puts two shots into the chieftain of the left unit and kills him then shoots the moonhound doing really good damage to it then repo’s back out of the Lord of the Feasts range. Vengeance moves clear out the two ravagers that killed the feasty boi then the charges kill off Caul, the Moonhound and a further 2 ravagers. On the right my cheiftain runs behind the building and one charges and kills a tracker but misses the other. My riders move up and put some shots out, one repoing to engage the lord of the feast. My moonhound runs to my zone and my chef runs to my flag.
I score 2!
2 – 0 to me
Matt’s Turn 3
Big bird does a big fucking pulse killing a whole bunch of ravagers and riders after bought shots. Brighid and two ravagers finish off the other ravagers in his zone but he can’t get anything into it with me killing his moonhound. The trackers move up, minifeat onto the ravagers and plink off a couple of them. Baldur then moves up and feats and blocks the birds LOS to him with a rapid growth. Lord of the feast tries to clear the last rider and misses, the whitemane charges it and misses and then a regular ravager charges her, hits and rolls trip 1s leaving her alive. lel. He doesn’t contest my flag but he does score his own.
We both score 1!
3 – 1
My Turn 3
My right hand ravagers mini feat and the chieftain packmans his way into contesting range of the flag. I can get a ravager into 1 more of the trackers but he can’t reach the final contesting model so i charge and kill the one i can and then the shaman shoots him in the back with a chain lightning, leaping to her and killing her off. The left ravagers kill off Brighid and an enemy ravager and the bird then advances into his zone and kills the final one letting me score 3 going 5 clear.
Final score: 6 – 1 to me.
This is a game i feel is advantaged for Morvhanna as i have 2 armies to his 1 so even if it didn’t end on scenario i’d have likely outground him. Also with the raptor and the riders for jump i have ways around his feat making it harder still. I was very happy to have the game end quicker this time though after the epic grind my last one was!
There was only 2 games on the first day so i ended on a positive note knowing i was going into a really tough bracket for the next morning.
